Key Workers
When your child enters nursery, they will be under the care of a key worker. This is a member of staff who is responsible for the observations and assessments of a small number of children.
Areas of learning
Our curriculum is broken down into 6 areas of learning
- personal, social and emotional development
- communication, language and literacy
- problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
- knowledge and understanding of the world
- physical
- creative development
Activities are planned to ensure all areas of learning are included. From time to time, we invite visitors into our setting, for example a dentist or nurse when we are learning about keeping healthy. We often take the children on outings related to topics being taught. We always seek written parental permission before any outings.

Parental Involvement
We believe that parents are the most important adults in a child's life, valuing their contributions and involving them as much as possible by
- being approachable and available
- keeping them informed about their child's progress
- involving them in shared record keeping of their child
We believe it important that children attend regularly and do not arrive late or leave early, thereby missing important parts of the daily routine.
Transition
To help your child in the transition from home to pre-school or nursery and onto school you could encourage your child to
- go to the toilet by themselves
- put on and take off their own coat
- wipe their own nose
- sit quietly and listen when others are talking
- look after toys and equipment
Snack Time
Every day chidren are offerred a healthy snack, usually fruit and drink.
