We’re hiring a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team!
About St Augustine’s Centre
Our vibrant community Centre in Halifax welcomes refugees and people seeking asylum. Working across Calderdale with partners, we offer people seeking asylum and refugees the practical support they need to rebuild their lives with dignity, and we offer a range of activities to reduce isolation, help people feel more connected and happier.
Together we are building a diverse community which challenges injustice and puts the needs and voices of our Centre Members at the heart of our work.


What we are looking for
We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to manage and support our team of over 300 volunteers, who are at the heart of everything we do at St Augustine’s Centre.
This role is key to ensuring our volunteers feel supported, valued and well-informed, while helping to recruit, induct and train new volunteers as opportunities arise. You will also build relationships with local organisations and volunteering networks to strengthen our offer and create wider opportunities for Centre Members.
We’re looking for someone who is:

Key information
- Fixed term contract until March 2027 (with an intention to continue if funding is secured).
- 22.5 hours (3 days) a week to start as soon as possible.
- £14.31 per hour which equates to an annual salary of £16,788 and is equivalent to a full-time annual salary of £27,981.
- 3-month probationary period.
